Tech Talk: Parallella Project
CREL is hosting a Parallella University Project.
Benjamin Madej will kick-off the project with a discussion about the pros and cons of NVIDIA versus Adapteva.
Speaker Bio(s):
Benjamin Madej is a second year PhD student in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of California San Diego and the San Diego Supercomputer Center. He is currently working under the supervision of Prof. Ross C. Walker in the Walker Molecular Dynamics Lab. His interests are in molecular dynamics simulations of biochemical and biophysical systems that complement traditional drug research and development. In particular, he is developing new computational chemistry algorithms and specialized “force fields” for molecular dynamics that employ the massively parallel architecture of GPUs. Prior to starting PhD work in Chemistry and Biochemistry, he completed his BS in Biomedical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis.
